I found these 2 plates among my mother's things. They say Bauer Los Angeles and Made in USA on the back. I don't know if they were originally painted from the factory or if somebody painted them afterwards. Did Bauer produce painted plates? Any ideas?

I have seen a couple and most of them are cold painted. Hand-painted Bauer pieces are unique and done by many artists.
