This ancient artifact has been in my collection for perhaps 15 years and I've long hoped to learn more about it.... Perhaps viewers can help. I believe it is Mayan based on the iconography. I have no idea as to the intended use of the form.. it is lozenge shaped with low relief decoration on one side and no decoration on the reverse. As may or may not be evident it is constructed of some sort of clay and there are several chips especially on the back side and one chip on the front. I believe this is authentic (not a reproduction). It measures about six or seven inches long. Also note the rabbit at the very bottom.... Part of the head missing due to the chip. Welcome any/all comments. Thanks

Possibly a spirit board or gope board?
