This came from my grandfather. It is made of leather inside and out.
There's nothing to identify what it is - no year or what is was for.
Any thoughts/information are welcome.
Thank you.

Update: I found the Lambert and Butler brand has been taken over and I have sent an email to the owner asking if they may know or have an archive of L&B items to identify it. I will post an update.
Thanks to all who took the time to have a look/read!
I'm just now seeing this and am sorry if it is a 'CaptainObvious" response, but depending on its exact size it'd seem logical for it to be a holder for either wooden matches or a few of the actual cigarettes, perhaps an item intended for use in a fancy formal smoking lounge kinda environment...?? I'll be looking forward to hearing what you might learn from your email research about it! :-)
Size? Looks like it may be a dice cup, for playing dice.
@AnythingObscure - nothing was too obvious for me at the time. However, I think you are correct @Celine! A quick image search for leather dice cups yields items that are very similar. Nothing with any embossing, but I don't think there's any doubt. Thank you very much!
If L&B come back with anything new, I will update.
