    Steamertrunk
    (1 item)

Just picked this up from a goodwill. I know it is eagle lock co. However I was wondering if anyone knows how old is. Or a time period. Any thoughts or comments on the trunk. Is it valuable. I want to restore it. First time using this website.

Welcome to Collector’s Weekly. You have in your possession a nice example of a trunk manufactured in the early 1900’s. It is not covered with leather, but rather a product called vulcanized fibre. This covering cannot be refinished like wood, but it can be cleaned up and shinned up. There were many companies making these types and styles of trunks at the time so if you don’t see a makers mark you most likely would not discover the maker — which is typical of many trunks. This trunk does not have a high monetary value but does lend itself to decorative placements… so enjoy!
