While clearing out old equipment, I found this tube filled with pyrene metal fire extinguisher in the chemistry research lab I work in. It is 3/4 full with what is called pyrene G-1 powder, which is probably some trademarked pyrene-based compound. It is meant to extinguish fires caused by metals (sodium, potassium, etc) by choking off oxygen supply. I thought this was neat after seeing a bit of the vintage fire extinguisher market considering it is in a cardboard tube (which is alright condition), is Canadian made, and is meant specifically for metal fires, so a unique find based on what I have seen out there in my brief search so far! If you are interested to learn more please let me know!
