Beautiful owl, his crimson colour is the best- that's very cherry like or maybe even a little bit gothic like and spooky?! Which is fitting considering he's an owl and I can imagine him hooting on a tree in the moonlight- he's an awesome design and colour!
Very strict and to the point, love owls, nice touch to the eyes !~

Thanks so much Lauren for your fantastic compliments, that is a terrific way to describe this owl - a bit gothic and spooky! I always think of this type owl around Halloween when their "hot hoo" call is a bit unnerving....I'm a fan of the old Hammer horror films, and Halloween is one of those holidays with both Christian and pagan symbolism that was done really well in those films. Isn't that cherry red enamel body pretty, it looks sort of glazed on
Phil those green eyes are watching us lol :) It's funny how most owl brooches are in this upright position with wings tucked in, nice when they spread their wings but rarely seen (I do have a couple though). Thank you for your marvelous comment & observ
