I have this heavy statue and not sure if bronze or other metal. I was told by the seller it's over 40yeras old. There are no marks on itthat I can see. Anyone shed light on it as to age, value or maker?

There are many of these statues disguised as metal which is hollow or resin ones that started to come out 1988 or 90. They were made to look old. Likely if you dropped them they would break like resin. Some are just like this one. The resin ones are solid resin so the piece or bottom under the legs would be filled in and not hollow. Just the fact that the legs have no tree stump under them makes me know that this is a resin one. They have flooded the market since. Just put in statue on ebay and you should get fair prices or way out prices as people usually put whatever they want on them.
I side with you, thestatue is all metal and not bronze. Thanks
Anything that had real value, would have artist and a foundry marks..with a few exceptions.
