Hi! Forgot to mention the handle has the numbers 29 (on the left) and 62 (on center) stamped on it.

I would venture to say that it looks similar to Osh Kosh chief luggage 1940's to 50s'

Thank you Vynil33rpm and Drill. We were leaning towards a Hartmann Tourobe but will also pursue Osh Kosh. The exterior construction looks like the Hartmann's "Gibraltarized" finish. It will be interesting to see if the Osh Kosh has a similar finish. The lack of badges or even signs of pin holes from the badges is so frustrating. The locking latch is from Eagle manufacturing. We were hoping the brass trim along the inside edges of the wardrobe would be an easy identifier in the absence of a manufactures badge or model number. The hunt continues! Thanks again

Update! Eagle Lock Company is printed on the latches. We didn't realize they were also once one of largest trunk manufacturers in the US. Also United Carr was stamped on some of the interior snaps. They have been manufacturing snaps since the 1930s. So we know the trunk is from the Eagle Lock Company post 1930.

Eagle lock company was one of the largest producers / providers of lock & latch hardware to the trunk industry( Terryville Conn.).Even Hinges and other components were produced by them. They invented/ acquired many patents for what they produced. To the best of my knowledge They were not a maker of the trunks themselves. There was however an Eagle Trunk company (Schmit Brothers located in OshKosh Wisc.) They trademarked a" Travelwell" trunk which has a similar covering to your trunk.I believe this company was later merged by acquisition into Osh Kosh trunks. If you have found other information that eagle lock company produced there own trunks.I would be interested to see that source. It would contradict prior knowledge.
Without a label on the trunk itself it is hard to say who made it . Eagle lock made hardware for hundreds of trunk companies. Thanks again for the post.

Thanks for the correction Drill. Apparently Oshkosh is now owned by "Chief". I've reached out to them to see if it may have been one of their trunks. I'll also pursue the numbers stamped into the leather strap handle (29, 62). Do you know if this was also done for multiple manufacturers? Is it possibly a code for the key for the lock? For now we're back on the Unsolved Mystery list. Will try to update as we learn more.
