Such a cute little duck- at first I thought it was a dove because of the way they sit with their heads tucked down.
There's a really colorful breed of duck with brown and blue-green on it that I can't think of it's name in real life but she definitely looks like that- they have kinda bizarre feathers on them! :)

Mallards have blue/green feathers on them. Is he perhaps meant to look as if he is grooming his feathers?

Thank you so much B for your super praise, I was so excited to find a nice Murano sommerso-colored animal & am really happy you liked it!

Lauren thank you for your awesome comment, I can see the dove comparison they do tend to tuck in their heads like that. The blue-green duck is the male mallard as sklo42 mentioned, it has such shiny feathers whilst the female is a spotty brown. We live near a Bay so there was a mated pair of mallards that used to hang out in a small tree filled section on our block, beautiful large birds and I miss them - construction guys cleared some of the trees away so I think they found a new hangout spot :(

Thank you for your wonderful compliment Cokeman, I'm very glad you saw the beauty in this piece! I love both the pose & blended colorway, it's pretty unusual for Nason whose glass animals were mostly one color

MrsT thank you for your lovely words and enjoying the colors here

Thank you sklo42 for your great comment & I do believe he looks to be preening, good call! Mallards are so gorgeous, I have a little Langham mallard that I also love, such a cutie. To me, this Murano duck combines the best of their coloring, blue-green with shades of golden brown, a nod to both sexes

Hi Rose, I'm so delighted you are back and posting beautiful things again, great to see you! Thank you for your sweet praise and truly glad you loved my Murano duckie

Karen thank you for your lovely praise for this duck, I finally found a cool Murano sommerso animal with more than two colors I'm so psyched! Totally grateful for your appreciation my friend. Still awaiting an op date, looking like Nov or Dec he's a busy guy I just have to be patient (not my strong suit!)
