Here is a piece of the black carpet that was part of the furnishings at John Lennon's "Kenwood" estate in Surrey England. The carpet was installed during renovations by decorator, Ken Partridge. The carpet was in the house from 1965 to 1968. This piece of carpet was saved by Lennon's housekeeper, Dot Jarlett. She worked for Lennon from 1964 to 1968.
I hope the lady made a bundle of cash! Good for her. :^)
She did! Lennon gave her the jacket he wore on the cover of "Rubber Soul". The Hard Rock Cafe has the jacket. Lennon gave her a pair of brown pants from 1967 that I own...all kinds of clothing...pairs of his glasses...his tooth...she sold lots of stuff at auction. She passed away a few years ago. She was around 92.
You have to be quite the enthusiast to want a piece of carpet.
Oh I am...Since 1964. I've got Beatles owned and worn clothing...autographs...Ringo's used drumsticks...one of George Harrison's guitar cases...all kinds of stuff!
