These are hard to come by. You hardly ever see clan anything for sale or shown in this type of forum. I don't like it from a clan stand point. I like this it historical perspective. People may look at this as bad but if we learn from this hopefully these views will change. It could bring us together as a nation by learning from the bad as well as the good.

Somehow the posts on my picture were deleted hmmmm. This was my grandfathers group and more than likely taken from his camera. It's a dark part of our family's history (IMO) This won't be anything you will see for sale that is for sure, but part of our history none the less.

James, look at my Klan items.

Thanks for having the integrity to post this. History isn't what we wish it was, it's what was. James is right, it is important from an historical perspective just like a picture of the SLA or the Black Panthers.

...and whose family doesn't have a dark part ? !

It is the same as posting Nazi items, it doesn't mean that you agree with their motives. History needs to be addressed not ignored. We must not forget, we must teach other generations so it never happens again.

Yes I think so. Some people collect that stuff, and mostly for the reason they are interested not "involved" It's like my Ouija boards, I love them, but don't really use them.
The older generation does not talk about my Grandfather's involvement in the Klan, and make excuses (second generation GAR, blah blah) But lets face it many felt threatened by the growing rights of African Americans. I think it was fear more than hate for many. Those that went over the line with violence that is between them and their maker now. Those that still follow it thankfully are not supported anymore by the mass of the population, and a dying breed. ( I hope)
Those that forget the past are condemned to repeat it.
