Barn find strange vintage military motorcycle ? headlight bucket if anyone out there knows what this is for please share.

Just by looking at it, you can tell it's not a headlight. Why would you have a headlight with a handle? And you can see the swivel mounts. Also looks small..old motorcycles had big headlights. So I suggest a spot/flood light. Like these examples...
