Here is a 6"H red-amberina glass roaring lion bookend that was originally designed by the Cambridge Glass Co in the 1920s. This special commemorative reissue was made by the Lenox-Imperial Glass Co in 1978 for the NCC (National Cambridge Collectors Inc), with NCC-1978 imprint on (L) side. As seen in book Glass Animals by Spencer (pic #4)
Really lovely lion, he's got such a lovely deep red colour. It's such a rich shade of burgundy...
His pose is so cool too, reminds me of those lions you see on monuments- very regal!
Many thanks for the thoughtful love all

Lauren isn't he an imposing fellow, that's exactly what I thought he could be guarding a stately monument & with that fierce roar those entering had better watch out! It is a beautiful rich red color with touches of gold (not much seen in my photos); I'm always looking for a nice glass lion for you, my favorite Leo friend :) Thank you as ever for your fabulous praise
He is very regal, but Jenni, the colour!
Gorgeous
Karen thank you for your fabulous comment as ever, this was a special find for me because I rarely see glass lions & he is rather regal esp with that deep red, glad you liked! Well my friend, big day in a couple wks, apprehensive of course but will be relieved after, chin up & fingers crossed, will let you know outcome
For the love I'm truly grateful

I really love this lion bookend. I don't come across many glass bookends. This is GREAT!!
Thank you Scott for your super praise for this glass lion bookend, this was a rare find for me as glass lions are pretty rare, and it's not often I find a vintage book piece that I can afford
