Please help, looking for second opinion(s)!!! This
8-3/16" pewter plate is "old" but HOW OLD? Some collectors told me their guess was late 19th century with Eastern design influences but had no further specifics and said they were just guessing. I'm wondering if the form of the plate blank is older? Also in the way of reference material, the [much older] metal work shown in The Brass Book (authors, Schiffer) on pgs 284 & 285 look like this type of work! SYMBOLISM? I'm sure the plate images are intended as message ... the IBEX is symbolic in several cultures; there are also six birds including the PEACOCK which is also highly symbolic. I hope someone sees this here on CW who knows more than I do! THANKS for looking!
Here's a Persian box with similar motif..

dav2no1 ... A much belated THANK YOU for your reply on the pewter plate I posted. Yes, very helpful! No doubt it's of "persian" origin, you solved my mystery. Hey I really appreciate your help! (Not online here often, love this site but never seem to have the time.)
You're welcome..
