Hello everyone!!
I hope everyone is doing well. It's been a busy summer and fall for me and I've had little time to treasure hunt. But, I was able to acquire this antique cast iron rabbit trivet several months back. This piece dates back to the mid to late 1800's. It's still in really nice condition. The colors didn't really show up well until I cleaned it and was careful not to disturb it's wonderful patina. I gave a light coat of transparent wax and a light buffing to protect it. It's quite heavy and measures about 12" long and 9 1/2" tall. We keep this displayed in our dining room.

I remember an elderly lady wanting a trivit years ago and made her one. She was grateful so it was all the pay I needed. This one is a sure cracker in anyones book !~

Thank you!!!!! It's really been quite a challenge. I'm covering operations in two states. So, my time has been greatly consumed by it. Looking forward to some time off during the holidays and a bit of rest. Can't wait to go treasure hunting again:)

I would never use this as a trivet! It's just too precious and the detail is amazing! I so love your rabbits, bunnies, and hares!
