Artist/Brand: The Hocking Glass Co, (Anchor Hocking)
Design: Roulette
(Also referred to as, "Many Windows")
Year: 1935-1939
Origin: U.S.A
Dimensions: tba
Materials: Glass
Reproduction / Original: Vtg Original
Misc: Depression glass, Uranium glass, Vaseline glass.
My partner in crime found a stack of these seven depression glass saucers in the local op shop. About 4 are in close to pristine condition & the others very light scratching (quite the fortunate find).
Now if you could only find a stack of cups to match, you'd be in business!
Hocking Glass named this pattern 'Roulette'. The pattern was produced a few years before Hocking merged with Anchor in latter part of 1937; so, would be a Hocking pattern even tho' production continued after the merger.
@TallCakes Very interesting, Im not sure why so many dub it as many windows then? So from my understanding now, was it first produced as 'Roulette', then later AH reproduced the design but sort of renamed it? I'll update this post asap, thank you for your help. I'm not too sure if that means the date of c.1934 maybe incorrect also. I looked into this one a while ago and I had a collector confirm that info for me too. Alas, I really overlooked this one, I should've delved deeper!!
@dav2no1 I hope so mate lol. I fortunately do own 6 vaseline uranium teacups, just not in this exact pattern. Although, they do sort of match, so I think I can get away it until then ;)
'Many Windows' is a collector's name or AKA; collector's often make up names based on motif when they don't know the maker's name for a pattern and often the AKA catches on. I think you're right on the date.
