I'm hoping this might be from the Loetz Cephalonia range. It is 5.5"x5.5" with a ground pontil, fire polished rim, four dimples and quite a bit of age wear on the base. The inclusions are mica, the outside is smooth, but the inside is bumpy over the larger inclusions. I can't find another like it so would be grateful for any thoughts.
It's modern Chinese production - the giveaway is the pontil mark.
Thanks kisslikeether, I know it can be faked but the wear on the bottom looks genuine to me and indicates it has got some age and is not modern. Chinese glass pontil marks are often ground but not polished, this one I think is partly polished and is similar to ones found on some Loetz pieces. However, I'm leaning away from the Loetz connection but still thinking possibly Czech, early/mid 1900's. I still can't find one like it.
