Here is a 3"H yellow glass fish match holder that was Heisey item #1550 designed by Royal Hickman in the mid-1940s, reissued by Imperial Glass in their sunshine yellow color, raised I inside G imprint can be seen in photos 2 and 4
Cool looking round fish- and like an ancient one you see on fountains especially with the wide open mouth- or those water spouts! I don't think I've ever seen a match holder shaped like a fish before...? ????
This is wonderful !~

Lauren it certainly does look like a classic fountain fish with the open mouth & frothy waves below, great call! I too have never seen a fish match holder before, so this was quite an innovative design from the '40s. Thank you for your fabulous praise and insight
Thank you Phil for your super comment and I'm so glad you found this fishy wonderful! I adore the yellow glass color which I don't find that often
I love match holders and this one is incredible! Never seen one like it until now.
Thank you Scott for your super comment/love for this Heisey design fish match holder, you and me both, have never seen a design like this - unusual to have the fish's mouth open to put the matches in lol, maybe fish hooks would be better! But Royal Hickman was really a wonderful designer, very art deco as you can tell from the fancy waves below
beautiful fish match holder
