I've had this very large bowl made by the California Fauence company in Berkeley a few yrs ago and then i forgot about it. There seems to be some spalling of the interior pink glaze which is not a good sign. The bowl is pretty and a very large one for Cal Faience. I wonder if it would be worth sending it in to get repaired?

this bowl is 10 inches across which is very large for a Cal Faience piece.

I’d bet a previous owner used bleach to attempt to clean the interior. That’s the only thing I can think of that would cause that type of glaze loss. If that’s the case, it’s not repairable, and will probably continue to deteriorating. Has the glaze loss progressed since you acquired it?
