What a fantastic photo in this United States passport from 1962. SEVEN people in one photo (passport). Amazing! Yes, that was possible back then.

Really enjoying your interesting posts! Amazing to see the changes that passports have undergone over the years. I got my first (Australian) passport in 2002 at the relatively late age of 29 & have renewed it a few times since then, & each time the rules have become more stringent. The first one I supplied my own photos from a do it yourself photo booth, & that was okay. But when I went for my 10 year renewal in 2013 my photos, which I'd had done professionally (for a visa) were rejected due to some hair slightly overhanging my eyebrows.
Thankfully the most recent ones were no problem, I think due to a change in haircut over the last 10 years!
Looking at this charming family photo, I believe the participants would have been soundly rejected by current standards due to their cheerful smiles & fringed hairstyles, not to mention the obvious fact of seven people all in one picture!

Thank you. Passport rules have changed a lot, as the key topic is security. But we can also see a material and design change in the last 20 years because of the increased security printing. However, the time of beautiful passport photos with handwriting, colorful stamps, and visas is over, which makes the collection of vintage passports even more exciting and also more valuable.
