Picked up this peculiar piece at the goodwill for $2.09. Two ladies had the aisle blocked with thier buggies and so I played the James Bond music and ran a covert mission down the side. With life in possible jeopardy I snagged my prize! Any info on this piece would be welcomed.
According to Huxford's Weller book, this is called a bulb bowl. It is shown with the "Ardsley" pattern line but noted that the shape was also used in the "Pumila" line. Dates from the 1930s.
A Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year to you Cokeman!!!

You are a Master of Thrift Shopping with your Eagle-eye and Skillful negotiation of isle blockages!
Even before I read artfoot’s confirmation of this being a bulb bowl, I was thinking it would be just perfect for some crocus bulbs, miniature daffodils and short-stemmed tulips.
What a great find!
Watch....You know the perils of thrift store shopping. One wrong move or wrong turn could lead to disaster. You got to just get in there with them, elbow to elbow, hand to hand and sometimes eye to eye:)))) You are an AWESOME lady and much APPRECIATED by this Cokeman! Happy New Year!
