Art Glass bowl/spaceship

It almost looks like some sort of spaceship, although it's main use is quite obvious. I think it is Japanese just because it is so unusual and there is so much Japanese glass here but I have never seen another one like this and I have had it for a few years.
Maybe someone else has seen one before?
The main internal part is yellow and red glass, the outside ring is clear.
185mm wide and 95mm high and very heavy.
