I found these at my local Goodwill. I don’t know anything about them. I bought 18 kinda small “Madame Alexander” dolls for $21 total, which I thought was good?
I got two Cabbage Patch Dolls (1982 and 1985) for $8 total.
Any help?
Thank you.
The story about the cabbage patch dolls is sad. How he partnered with the lady who invented the idea, then he completely ripped her idea off and made millions.
All the dolls in last photo appear to be Madame Alexander-kins . They have Wendy face and are a international series from late 70into 1980s . 8 inches tall. Nice find.
oops I missed you knew they were Madame Alexander dolls . They are called Alexander-kins because of small size . Excellent buy for $21 ! I see a few that do not have Wendy face . The boy and girl with freckles. Do they have tags on clothes ? They look like quality of Madame Alexander but not a face they used . Interesting.
I agree Dav2no1 Xavier Roberts stole Martha Nelson Thomas creation "Baby doll" and with a few adjustments names it "Cabbage Patch Doll." Like the Barbie doll idea was stole from a doll in Germany "Bild Lilli". I believe there was a lawsuit in both cases .
Manikin..Same story with Erector Sets, Atari, Legos and many other companies. Ripped off the ideas of others.
