GUSTAVE SHERMAN BLACK JAPANNED BROOCH AND EARRING SET WITH TENDRILS I got in the mail 2014 or so. I believe that I have seen one other set since then. The stones in these beautiful tendril off shoots can be almost any shape and are usually some of the smallest stones that Sherman ever used. Also some of these brooches are spectacular like the Sherman brooch, necklace and earrings in purple and green that I own. It also has the green glass leaves which are truly rare !~ >...........................H

What a striking design! Sometimes I think Sherman was at his most exciting when he leaned towards the abstract and geometric. The jet-black navettes are as sharp as needles, and look even more intense with the japanning. Another astonishing set. You do have the most amazing collection!
Thank you Newfeld, I only know pieces by Gustave Sherman since his mind was on fabulous real pieces which he created a lot of. I know of more than one of his pieces you have found have intrigued me !~
No Dave, not articulated but with the tiny stones with tendril like setting are quite unusual and usually had only 8 at the most of them on a piece.
