The old ones say TASCO vs tasco..

"The TASCO brand without a ® trademark claim should be 1952 to 1967. Per US Reg. No. 0836276 for TASCO, first use in commerce is 1952-07-01, registration date is 1967-10-03. So TASCO with ® is late 1967 to present.

Zip focus Tascos are likely after 1995. The zip focus patent appears to be US4066329 for "Optical adjustment knob with spaced apart platforms" granted 1975-10-09, assigned to Bausch and Lomb. B&L owned Bushnell then, and ?used it only in that line?. It will have expired ~1995, assuming B&L maintained it. So unless Tasco licensed or evaded it somehow, all zip-focus TASCOs post date its expiry. Ditto other non-Bushnell zip focus bins. IANAL.

I believe (can't prove) that Tascos with red, white, and yellow lettering, but without a model number indication, are early, meaning 1950s ?to early 1960s?. TASCO in ALL CAPS is earlier than lower case tasco. Aluminum beauty rings are earlier than rubberized ones (in the six I checked, all with metal beauty rings are pre-1967). Hard phenolic eye caps are earlier than soft rubber ones, maybe pre-1960."
