Hello everyone!!
I just finished reworking this vintage brass hunting horn lamp. I say vintage, but it's actually more like retro. The lamp is solid brass from the finial down (even the light socket and harp are solid brass, not plated). I really like the red tole lamp shade with the gold stenciling. The base appears to be solid mahogany wood, but could very well be walnut. It has some heft to it, so it's weighted very nicely. It measures just over 26" from top of finial.
The lamp is from the 1960's to early 1970's. The hunting horn actually works and the mouthpiece is removable. I know that lamps are totally out of my collecting genre, but the only reason I bought and restored my lamps was the fact that they all seem to go well with my horses and English fox hunting collectibles. But, this is the last of my lamp posts.
Thanks very much for stopping in for a look!!
Scott
For sure the lamp complement perfectly the fox!!!
Fantastic hunting horn lamp & how cool that the horn works, it's quite "foxy." Also, that furniture piece is a knockout, the carving is amazing I esp love the scrolled bottom border with shell - all winners Scott!
Thanks Kyra!! I'll have to find my English Fox Hunting prints in storage and hang those on the wall as well.
Thank you Jenni!! The chest is a Queen Anne reproduction. I bought that for my wife about 20 years ago. It's one of our favorite pieces of furniture.

Love the Chippendale stand I believe it is since I've seen a fair bit like it and the shade is one of my faves, instrument made lamps are always hot on the market so a smart move on your part. I have made most all my smaller lamps myself and finding the right parts have cost me plenty. Once a whole collection of decorations was lost by the bronze foundry shipper from Paris which was fed-ex. Someone at fed-ex knicked since it made it to customs in Winnipeg and lucky the piece was insured for plenty and luckily the foundry quick shipped some they had just made and all my stuff finally came again within 4-5 weeks !~
Phil,
Thanks so VERY much!! I love this style of lamp. I never really thought too much about the popularity of these, but some I've seen have been fairly pricey!! I buy a lot of items from Europe and, fortunately, I've had pretty good luck with my shipments, so far.
BTW, I checked out some of your photography recently, on your site, and I'm absolutely blown away by them all. Just incredible!!
