To Dave I am posting this again now to show the difference in the size and prongs. In this set it is super rare to see these prongs with the leaves in a brooch that comes with a necklace. To note how much thinner the prongs are (like a very thin wire) and a difference in shape of the tiniest stones which are indeed tiny and probably a lot of time for the stone setters to set, most of us could not set these stones, and all true collectors know that Sherman did not use glue. I know I try to be a perfectionist but trying to set these stones seems work for a hero in a fairy tale !!~
The only other thing I wanted to mention is that only the black set I have and one other out there have those big difference in the size of these larger prongs. Last week a lot of other people posted smaller brooches like in this coloured set. What really makes these special pieces of Sherman is the use of these ultra small stones set from ultra thin wire off of tendrils to set off these pieces in. Not sure if any of us has ever seen another jeweler use wires or tendrils as I call them very much to set off such tiny stones. Sherman actually made more than a few from what I have seen from other collectors, they are small and all incredible brooches !~
Awesomely beautiful & your photos are fabulous
Superb! As all your pieces Ô..Ô
With this degree of difficulty Sherman could have been a world class surgeon.Very nice.
So very beautiful!! Love those vibrant colors.
An amazing Sherman set. I wonder if this was a custom, one of a kind piece? That colour combination is rare for Sherman. Gorgeous set. You are blessed to have this one in your collection.
Thank you Dawnlady, I would not be too surprised to know if it is a one of a kind colour combination and also the fact that the leaf necklaces are so rare in the first place. I think one of a kind is not used enough in Sherman's Jewellery vocabulary. There are no ab set stones here either so its beauty is not defined by the lighting. Its set beautifully and its a stunner !~
Hi Phil!
I knew you would be the first to spot and love my Ruby Red Parure as you genuinely love vintage jewelry and it's beauty! You don't "post" just to post but collect the most rare and beautiful pieces. I just stopped by to see how things are going and not much has changed here so I am going to delete my D & E and go on my way. I miss you my friend! Take care !
