This little box has 'Buchanan' printed on top of the plaid on the lid. It appears to have had a black paper base at one point. Any idea what it was made for? i really like these little turned wood boxes and have quite a few of them, but this is the first one which is plaid.
it is 2 inches in diameter and 1/2 inch high.

I should say this looks like a stamp box. I believe those were actually made of a different material? Still a cool, useful box
Buchanan is the Scottish clan this tartan belongs to. One of my ancestral Scottish surnames is a sub clan of the Buchanans and wears this tartan. I have a few things with this tartan on them.
