Another from the Auto World True 1:64 series. Most high quality diecast cars are true to scale now but in the past not so much.
This one is a Dodge Dart Swinger 340 Special. The Dodge Dart was originally an economy car I think but they were often modified for drag racing. This version of the car was ordered by a Chrysler dealership in Canada for the 340 cubic inch engine. Plus it has hood scoops and a nifty black stripe on the back. I think my favorite of this car is that inward curved rear window.
Lots of exciting details on this. Opening hood, lettering on tires and the license plate says Special.
I may or may not get to a Scout post this weekend. I have some items but am time impaired.
When I was in high school a friend had one..it was brown with a white top. Thought it was the ugliest thing I'd seen. Funny how tastes change..now I like them.
I love a concave or convex rear window.
Was it called a swinger because of how it handled?
Thank you very much Dave. I used to think the same.
Thank you very much racer4four. I would have called it the Stinger. Swingers were into some strange stuff.
