This pitcher is 7.25" high x 6" diameter minus handle and spout x 6.75" diameter with spout and handle. The mark looks to me like two Ks back-to-back. I think that I have another piece of pottery with the same mark, but not sure what or where it is.

It was filthy, inside and out, but cleaned up nicely.

a $1.99 thrift shop find today, so could not pass it by. More images when I get to better software.

As soon as I saw it, it reminded me of the mark on the back of my creepy vase! It appears similar.

I sent you an email with the 2 marks, but after closer inspection..I believe you mark may be Karen Karnes 1960-70 mark.

      Still creepy, dav2no1!

My pitcher could be by Karen Karnes, alright! Thanks!

After looking closer..I don't think it's the same as the marks in my karnes link. Hmmm

Here is another piece on CW with the same mark. The piece looks more like Karnes work than mine does...

If you look at the karnes link, it shows that her marks all clearly have 2 KS back to back vs a single line. I think we both have a mystery still

Probably. I contacted the Black Mountain College Museum and they are checking their documentation. Karnes mark changed over time and her kiln burned down in the 1990s so she may have made some changes in the last part of her career. She apparently started using the kilns of other folks after her kiln was lost. I will update when I hear back from BMCM.
