The bead is about 1.3 inches wide and 1.75 inches long and has been drilled. I'm pretty sure it's made of something like quartzite. The whole bead is a bit primitive. I found it in the 50 ct box at my local thrift store. I've never seen such a large and heavy stone bead before. I wonder what it was used for? if it was on a necklace, it could easily take an eye out if the person wearing it were to fall. Any info appreciated. Thank you!
