Hello everyone!!
The latest addition to my bronze collection is this wonderful horse and jockey sculpture. It's titled "After The Race". I love everything about this piece. The details are just outstanding. The sculptor, though unknown to me, captured every little aspect of the horse and jockey. It measures 11 1/4" long, 3 1/8" wide and stands 8 1/2" tall. It weighs 8.35lbs.
Thanks for stopping in for a look!!

Splendid bronze figure Scott! It's all in the details and this maker was a genius! I love it!
And call me Eileen.. PHEOBE is my Daughter's cat's name. She has a Siamese like the one on that old TV show "Charmed", but she didn't like the name .."Kit" so she named her cat after one of the girls in the show. Ha! 1980 is the year I married Frank. God rest his soul, he was a wonderful husband and father. I was gonna leave but my stalker left so maybe I can post in peace!
Wow. Very nice. Love everything about this one.
Pretty big and heavy. Sweet.
Eileen,
Thank you so very much!! I’m so glad you decided to stay. It’s cloudy, 34* with a 26* wind chill here. So, you brought a little sunshine into my day:).
Thanks clockerman!! I have another big horse sculpture, that’s three times the weight of this one. I’ll post that one sometime soon. I just need to dig it out of my storage unit first.
Beautiful racehorse & jockey piece Scott, it must remind you of good times at the Derby. I still fondly recall a wonderful visit to Saratoga during an August racing season, and attending a fabulous exhibit of Jenness Cortez horse & racing art (love your fox sculpture by her) as well as the Thoroughbred racing museum, we had a great time
Jenni,
Thanks very much!! Our Kentucky Derby will be here in the wink of an eye. You'll have to make the trip to Louisville for the Kentucky Oaks (the filly's race) or the Kentucky Derby. Always the first Friday and Saturday in May.

Love the patina in particular !~
Thanks Phil!! I too love the patina on this. Though I'm certain the patina was chemically done, it's still great.
Scott it would be delightful to visit Churchill Downs & Louisville one day, but til covid clears up hubby & I are not doing much traveling - however will definitely be glued to the TV set watching all the fun on Derby Day, have a mint julep for me!
Jenni,
Maybe you and your hubby can make down to Louisville sometime in the coming years and get to see the Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby races in person. They're both quite an event!
Searching1,

This is like the one on eBay ( I think)
Thanks Eileen!
I think I know which one you're talking about. There are several variations of this sculpture. This one is more detailed than the others I've seen. But, the one you're seeing is one that I have on my wish list:)
