I thought that I had posted these images of displays of some of my Japanese metalwork, but cannot now find them on CW, so posting again (?). Was looking for these images on CW to determine how many kettles I have :p without going to that part of the house which is on another floor. Not sure that these photos are up to date, I will verify tomorrow. Thought I had six kettles but only count five on the second shelf in the first image, so guess six is the new total. Around three quarters of my collection is shown in these images, so there is possibly another kettle lurking in a box, but I do not think so....

The final image of the result of the first step in the cleanup of my < $7 Bunshudo kettle, It is after the initial cleanup with no attempt to restore the interior and exterior finishes.

I plan to make the larger shelves into a cabinet by adding doors with large glass panels so I won't have to continuously dust my collection. The upstairs is a converted attic space which I will eventually gut and redo as I do not think they added any insulation when it was finished. It gets very dusty up there, so I am wondering what I am going to find when I gut it. It is quite livable, as is, but not professionally done and has a 1950s vibe, which is probably when it was done.

Updated photos and one of initial cleanup of the Bunshudo kettle. No attempt, yet, to deal with the rust and restore the interior and exterior finishes, just cleaned it up. It was so dirty that it looked gray, not black.

Thanks for your comments, Jenni! I added a new photo and think there may be a couple for okimono in it.

      Thanks for the WoW, Vynil33rpm!

      Thanks for your comment, dav2no1!
