This antique tea caddy has been in my personal collection for about 10 years... An estate sale purchase. Not my usual area of interest, but I found this particularly appealing. My guess is that it dates from the early 19th century and I believe the wood is what I have seen described as satin wood. It's rather diminutive size. Makes me think it is American rather than British, but would welcome the opinions of those with expertise in this area. Thanks! (It measures about six and a half inches tall including knob.)
