    (10 items)

Have had these in a tray with a bunch of misc drill bits for the longest time. Thought this was the time to figure out what they actually were. 2 Items actually. One is a set of what look like "hones" to me. The longest is 6 1/4" long. The top looks like it could fit into a chuck of a drill of some sort. The shaft on each is 4 sided, and you can feel the cutting edge when you turn it to the right. I mean, they are tiny. An Uncle worked at GE, and they came from his house. I can only imagine that they were used to clean or bore out ports on jet engines or ?? They go down to next to nothing - the smallest one starts out like less than the size of a pin! The other 3 are like files, and they feel like the handle is meant to be turned by hand. (it's "checkered") Again, pretty darn small except for the one with the file "paddle" which is beveled like an ax head and less than 1/4" across/ Any ideas?

They look like a mixture of Swiss needle files and engineer's scrapers.

Thanks for your input. Any idea what field they may have been used in? (re: "engineer")
