This appears to be a parade welcoming a Maharaja during Mughal times - complete with festooned horses, soldiers, a camel and an elephant. It's over 7 ft long and almost two ft wide and printed somehow on this cotton fabric. Any info appreciated! It doesn't appear to be old, but beautifully made.

I can just imagine that custom framed and displayed prominently in my house.
Where did you find this lovely thing?

thank you jscotto, kiva and Watchsearcher! i found it at a 2nd hand shop for only a couple of dollars. I used to find loads of great textiles there, but they had moved them to an obscure place recently and that's where i found it. It's printed on cotton.

This is hand painted and not so old but reproducing the Mughal style, and the scene is a Rajput Procession, the man with the flower is the emperor and the other behind him his son.
