Is it an Alien being? Blue says no!
Actually it's my latest piece from Tony Kuepfer. This was made in 1983 and I have lifted a piece from "New Zealand Glass" below to tell part of the story.
Tony exhibited at the Canterbury Society of Arts, and decided to create a show of figure sculptures - 'I surprised them in Christchurch that year when there were 16 of these and not a goblet in sight'
There were many sizes and types of sculptures. Ones like this with a base and others with just the body and head. At least one of the pieces sported a hat. I got this from Tony last Saturday and is the biggest piece of art glass I have at 700mm tall and 270mm wide.
That's a pretty cool and unique piece!!
What an amazing piece this is. I feel I might look at it time and again and see something different each time.
