About 1 year ago I found this pretty little gossip bench in a resale store. It is in really good condition, but the crowning jewel was the cross stitch seat with hummingbirds. Being an avid bird watcher this just had to go home with me, and it cost less than filling up my gas tank. The colors and subject were perfect. I looked at these many times and never purchased one because of the wear and tear or the design/color, etc. When I found this one, I knew it was a match made in bird land. I think if you love birds, especially hummingbirds, you will agree, this is a beauty.
Just needs a telephone and you are ready to go. My friends found a nice antique style phone table but it was probably from the 1990's when it was made. This is a very nice simple one !~
I have a beige rotary phone I've put on the the top. I'll upload a pic later. I would like to find one even older, and eventually I will.
So cool! I actually found one and won the bid only for them to tell me they won't ship it to me. So disappointed but I'm hopeful I'll find another one. Such a great conversation piece!

My parents had a similar phone bench in our house when I was growing up…I noticed its absence several years ago but my mother could not recall what became of it. I suspect someone asked her for it and she gave it to them….I just hope they’ve taken care of it.
To Watchsearcher: I agree, I've seen many of these benches and this might be the prettiest one I've ever saw. They were very popular when I was growing up too. Our next door neighbor, Mrs. Carter had one. She was elderly with no children and often invited us kids over for snacks and company...She was so sweet, and she had one in her foyer. I would always sit at it because it felt so 'grown up'. I really adored her, and her phone bench... so this brings back very pleasant memories for me.
