    string-of-…
    (1 item)

I bought these from the estate of a neighbor who recently passed away at 101 yrs old. She used them as doorstops though possibly they’re bookends since there’s a pair. I couldn’t find another like them on collector sites or eBay so far. I thought it would be easy to identify the clear mark R L B (or RLB) on back but I couldn’t find any other cast iron pieces with that mark. 8-3/4” tall, 2 lbs 3 oz each. Loved them immediately, an exciting find for me!

Could be meant as a door stop also. Not sure, but great find !~

Has more of a Mayan or Aztec look to me rather than Native American.

That’s very possible, JEllington. I’ll research that. Thanks!

I did find a single one that sold on eBay. It didn’t have RLB stamped on back, was rough and not as detailed. I’m assuming it’s a repro of mine.

Thx for the love: PhilDMorris, dav2no1, fortapache, vcal and Newfld.

These are really great! Based on the weight of these, I'd say these are intended to be bookends. I've searched all of my books and can find no manufacturer listed as RLB. However, that doesn't really mean anything as there are several foundries were are not listed. You may very well have a rare set of bookends here.

Thanks so much, jscott0363, for taking time to look through your collector guides. So the mystery continues… The woman who owned them grew up in Tennessee. Many of her possessions were passed down from family members there and were made in that part of the country. Btw, your collection is amazing!

      Thx for the love ho2cultcha.

      Thx
