Several years ago, I posted a 1/2 scale "Star" butter churn. I wanted something to run with my "Sipp" steam engine at shows. It received a lot of attention, and I hadn't seen another on display since.
My wife and I went to an auction yesterday and up came (2) oak barrels. They were both brand new and they were selling both barrels together.
I thought, that since both were quality made by a professional Cooper, they would look nice as butter churns like my half scale "Star).
When finished, they will be half again larger than my earlier churn, but still smaller than the Original "no.0 Star" that I copied to make my half scale model, so I can still display them with my model steam engine.
I don't think that the Cooper that put the time and expertise into making these works of art and talent needed, will be happy with the $35.00 (minus the auctioneer's commission) that I paid for the pair. I will post them when they turn into butter churns.
Maybe you should leave one of the barrels untouched just because it is so well-made
Great price, nice barrels..
That's a good idea Vynil33rpm,
I don't need two of the same, and the whiskey bbl. is so nice as it is. Thanks
That's a very innovative design. Pretty cool hotairfan!!
