Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!!
On this special occasion, I thought I'd post this set of cherubs (not Cupids) playing the harp and flute. The cherubs are bronze and the orbs are porcelain. There has been some confusion throughout the years over the hallmark that you see in the last pic. They appear to be made by William Lowe in 1895. However, these were not made in 1895 or by William Lowe, but instead were made by the Wong Lee company sometime within the last couple of decades. Though they appear to be beautiful antiques, they are most definitely not. Beautiful, just not old (yet).
Happy Valentine's Day to you all!!
Scott
Not an Egyptian design on the porcelain but yet it all works nicely on the porcelain. Gorgeous design !~

Better late than never.. Happy belated St. Valentines Scott. Love the cherubs! I wore my new ( vintage) red brooch on St. Valentines like I said I would. One lady asked me if it was an heirloom. Like your cherubs, I said "not yet but will be someday, though it is over 60 years old!"
So fun!
Thanks Eileen!! I'm certain your vintage red brooch looked very lovely on St. Valentine's Day. Though these are not vintage yet, I still really like this pair.
