Hello everyone!!
Here's a recent match holder find. This one is a matchbox holder/ashtray. It's solid bronze and has developed a wonderful patina over the years. I love the pear design on the matchbox holder portion as well as ornate details of the ashtray. This one is well over 100 years old and still in very nice condition. This piece measures 6" tall and 6 3/4" wide. In regards to the manufacturer, I really can't answer that as there are not markings to be found anywhere on this one.
Thanks very much for stopping in for a look!!

Beautiful pear & ornate scroll design, what a fabulous antique piece
Thanks Jenni!! I don't collect ashtrays, but I do collect matchbox holders. This one caught my eye and I had to have it.

a nut tray? probably....
Thanks kivatintz!! It's actually an ashtray and matchbox holder. But, I guess it could work as a nut dish. Not a bad idea.

This was once in a Victorian household....everything back then was so ornate!
Where do you find them Scott? It's solid beauty astounds me!
Thanks Eileen!
I actually found this one on eBay. It was sold to me as a vintage candy dish, but I knew exactly what it was the moment I saw it.
