    Hello everyone!!
Another dog I've added to my collection is this little copper plated spelter French Bulldog. The only way I knew it was copper plated spelter is that there is a tiny spot on the bottom of his foot that has a bit of copper plating missing and exposes the zinc spelter. He's very nicely detailed and just the size I like. He's dates back to the mid-1900's and still retains 99% of his copper plating. He measures 5 1/4" long and 3 1/4" tall.

Thanks very much for stopping in for a look!!
    Scott

Lovely figurine! Now ,about 75 years later french bulldogs look a bit different :they don't have a long tail and their back legs are different. And I don't claim it is good for them.

As to Yvonne's comment.. Pugs have changed over the years too! They used to have a "snout" instead now their face looks like they've ran smack into a wall! They were bred that way to the point some need a vet to open their airways. So sad what we do to animals ok I'm done.
French bulldogs are the cutest of dogs and he's a wonderful piece Scott.. long tail and all! :)

      Eileen,
Thanks for the kind comment! I've always wanted French Bulldog and I've always wanted a a Pug, but my son tells me that they tend to have respiratory issues, due to the way they were bred. So, we opted for Dachshunds instead.
