Here's something I purchased about 5 years ago thinking how much Karen might have loved this. Normally, it sits on a picture stand, it's already packed so I thought I'd snap a pic of this before I pack it too.
Vintage Japanese Cloisonne design of a cherry blossom tree, on a hammered brass, I think, plate. It's about 7".
Again, I won't be able to respond much till I get to my new location. Very exciting news and life for me! Will fill you all in later!!!
Enjoy!!!
Another wonderful piece!! Just BEAUTIFUL!!
Gorgeous cherry blossom tree image
Good luck on your move !~
Lovely piece!
Just FYI, this depicts what the Japanese call plum blossoms (ume) rather than cherry (sakura). In traditional depictions, plum trunks and branches are shown as very thick and angular, the petals are rounded rather than notched, and there’s always a prominent burst of stamens in the centre of each blossom. Ume is considered a flower of late winter or early spring as it sometimes blossoms in the snow, and arrives earlier than sakura :) I actually prefer plum as it is the older classical flower of Japan! (and plum “meat” formed the basis of fantastic incense blends too)
I ran out of tape and the closest place to get it is 45 minutes away from me... That's just one way!!! Guess this morning I'll just do some cleaning (oh fun)!
Thank you all for the love, I do appreciate it.
Mr J, you are always so kind! Thanks for being you?!!
Jenni, thank you too, apparently, it's not cherry blossom! See below comment! Interesting!
Hi Phil, thank you for the positive wishes. It's actually going well. This time, I've donated 2 truckloads to a Crisis Center and a place called a Free Store. It feels great to help others in need and it's also lightened my load! Guess I'll have to get back on the hunt when I land! Can't wait!!!
Rhinestone, I stand corrected! Thank you for the detailed explanation, I had no idea! I bet the incense smells lovely!
This is beautiful!
Thank you vintage lamp, good to see you! ;)
I missed this !!
Yes, of course I love it, and I have it's sister here.
Mine is Ando too, rectangular, lighter green ground, very similar blossoms.
Too lovely.
Well finally I get to see you!!! Lol! Oh but I miss you so much! I am always finding things that remind me of you. I've got a signed piece but any pic I try of this latest piece I picked up has far too much glare, but it's really gorgeous. Maybe I'll try to take it out of the glass so you can see it. I'm going to take a peek at your sister to my piece now!!! Hey, at least with your influence, the pieces I find are so beautiful!!! Xoxoxo!
