I recently bought this brooch/pendant online as a 1960s brooch. I think it might be older judging from the backside (mainly the pin). There's no markings and when I went to a jeweller (not specialized in antiques) he said it was not silver and probably not antique. I then did a quick search on mid century stomacher style brooches by Attwood & Sawyer, but the backside and pin of the A&S pieces are obviously more recent. So now I'm undeceided between antique (on the cheaper side/costume), or a fake / vintage revival piece. My question: what are your toughts on this brooch/pendant? How should I date this?

    Thank you!

Beautiful brooch/pendant with lovely blue stones. I am thinking it could be a revival piece as it reminds me of one I have posted here in some ways - put Butler & Wilson dangle brooch in our search box above then hit enter, see what you think

Thanks @dav2no1. I knew from the large hinge it should mean it's an oldie, but I can't fathom why it's not silver and why the drop doesn't feature a large central stone, as all examples from the 19th century seem to have...

Thank you as well @Newfld, I see the resemblances! I'm no expert on B&W, but the backsides of these types of brooches don't match unfortunately :( Just as the A&S, B&W examples all have modern pins and they do not have the solid backside my brooch does. Thanks for your help!
