This planter or bowl is listed numerous times across the interwebs, in different color ways as a “Bauer RBP 8”…
The bottom is stamped CALIF USA RBP 8.

I’m just not sure where the Bauer Pottery designation comes from. I’m no stranger to the Bauer Pottery universe, with years of collecting and many books on the subject. I know there were other brands that were producing alongside of Bauer and they also absorbed many companies.
Does anyone know about this particular items provenance or how it relates to Bauer?

      Well I found this..

      https://www.etsy.com/listing/1205929099/california-rbp-usa-pottery-planter-large

And that led me to this listing and the explanation you're looking for. You will have to fact check it, but seems correct..

      Thank you dav2no1
Just wish I could find provenance from a Bauer source like an ad, catalog…
Many listing making the claim these are Bauer…
I just can’t rely on that
I wonder what RBP stands for ?
(R something) Bauer Pottery I’m guessing.
Thank you though as that was the closest I’ve gotten to finding anything.

Well ..now you've got me curious. Best thing to do..I just sent an email directly to Bauer and asked them. Let's see what they say?

I emailed the fine folks at Bauer and they responded that this is certainty NOT Bauer Pottery.
The mystery remains: what is RBP?
