This bowl is 10" long x 9" wide x 2.5" high. The base is ground flat and polished. It is not marked. I think it weighs about 3 lbs. Based on the bottom finish, I do not think this is Chinese, but the quality and color does not say "Murano" to me as there are a lot of bubbles and a few dark inclusions, maybe ash that got into the glass while it was being worked. Aside from that, I do not have any idea who made it.
This was a $2 GW find today, so I could not pass it up.
I'll be interested to see what comes up as I several and agree they are too nice to be Chinese.
Thanks for your comments, BHIFOS! Maybe Japanese?
I think likely Murano production, although it may be next to impossible to identify the production house. Lots of generic stuff like this was produced in the 1960's for
export.
Thanks, welzebub! That makes sense. Maybe just cranked out in large quantities for the low end of the market, cost-wise, not their best work, but good enough.
Nice pix. Murano é.
It looks like it just floated down !~
Thanks for your comments, Kevin! To get the aventurine to show up, I had to use some pretty bright light which washed out the blue color of the glass. The blues are a bit darker than shown.
Thanks for your comments, PhilDMorris! It does look a bit like a folded leaf, doesn't it?
Thanks for checking out my bowl sklo42, Kevin, Cisum, PhilDMorris, Falcon61, Jenni, dav2no1, fortapache, Vynil33rpm and BHIFOS!

Thanks, jbingham95!
Looks like Murano to me, some is thinner glass and yes can have bubbles in it, The base look right too -- in my opinion
Thanks for your comments, antiquerose!
...and yes, not a bad thing to have some "Ash" in it !! I still say Murano
Thanks again, antiquerose!
