I acquired this lamp several years ago... . To the color and the simple form. I am only speculating that it is Japanese. Based on the fittings and the felt bottom, I suspect the lamp dates from the '50s to '70s. I attempted to capture the glaze which is mottled and toward the bottom and barely visible because of the wood base the glaze ends leaving a narrow on glazed area. Would welcome views as to likely origin and comments on this particular glaze. Thanks!

Looks like a converted vase. A nice one. What are the dimensions of the pottery part?

Might try taking it apart to see if it is a converted vase and, if so, if it is marked.

The vase is about 14" tall. I have been tempted to disassemble to examine more closely and may next time I'm feeling daring! Thanks for the comments.
