I have tried to find out who the artist is . These were an award in the sixties. I thought maybe Picasso but I don’t think so. They are Linocut prints. Help me please.

Peter Lanyon - possibly?
It’s by the artist Werner Arndt. He was a founding member of the Bogensportclub (Archery Club) Frankfurt in 1958. You can see that specific artwork listed here:
https://wernerarndt.de/WA_Homepage/Werkverzeichnis/1960_1969/1960/Werkverz_ff.htm
Thank you so much. I think I visited his work before but couldn’t make the connection . You made my day. Thanks again .
Actually I reached out to Bogensportclub Frankfurt directly (using a translation app) and the club’s officers provided the information. Happy to help!
I tried that a couple years ago and was told they were no longer in business. I purchased both of them at a Goodwill . I don’t want to have to subscribe to an Art site to find out if they are worth anything. I guess I’ll keep digging. Maybe I’ll luck on to a free site. Thanks again ????
You could reach out through the artist’s website via the link provided above. There are contact email addresses if you click Home and then “Ihre Eindrücke” under Feedback
Again MMNJ you have shown me your skills. I think you have a career in detective work. Thanks again.
I wonder if either one of his sons are receiving my messages. MMNJ do you think you could find out ?
When I contacted the archery club I extended the courtesy of writing in German (using Google translate, and apologizing for any errors in advance), since I figured they might just ignore messages in a foreign language. I can do the same here if you haven’t already.
I haven’t. I tried to send another message but it didn’t go through. If you could I’d appreciate it. I’m going to keep trying though. Thanks
Ok, I sent them an email and will let you know if I hear anything back
I heard back from the artist’s sons. Unfortunately they couldn’t provide a current value for this (which is not something we could discuss in this forum anyway). Here’s the reply I received in full, as translated through Google:
“The graphic is a screen print in various colors and an edition of 100 copies by our father Werner Arndt. At an archery tournament in Frankfurt, he had donated a few copies of this screen print as a prize. During his lifetime he sold this graphic for about 80.00 - 100.00 Deutsche marks. This would correspond to about 50.00 euros today. Since our father is not represented in the current art trade, we can therefore not give you a price for what the graphic is worth today. Unfortunately we cannot give you any other answer.”
MMNJ Thank you so much for taking the time to help someone you don’t know. I know that time is something you can never get back. To give someone your time is worth more than any amount of money. That is something that you will be blessed by. Your new very impressed ft .
