Handmade? Wood folk doll

Update, I found this basket full of hand stitched little dolls while thrifting. I had a vision for displaying her with her new brood
Reminded me of an old schoolhouse
This doll bends at the hips and shoulders. She looks like she had a necklace at some time. She has a square back and is signed Young. The clothing looks to be custom sewn to fit as it is not removable. I thought it was a marionette but there are no holes for strings, Does this look like a handmade thing?
